Cut in 1970 with a pared-down Arkestra, Night of the Purple Moon puts Ra at the Rocksichord and Moog for long stretches, chasing tones that sound less like jazz than like weather. Danny Davis and John Gilmore handle the horns; the rhythm section stays loose and unhurried throughout. It is quieter than the big Arkestra statements and stranger for it, closer to private music than performance. Modern Harmonic expand it here across two LPs with material from the original Saturn sessions.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Modern Harmonic","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43464307507409,"sku":"881626819319","price":39.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0589\/2866\/0689\/files\/sun-ra-his-intergalactic-infinity-arkestra-the-night-of-the-purple-moon-vinyl-lp-modern-harmonic-good-taste-records-1092499.jpg?v=1793235675","url":"https:\/\/goodtasterecords.com\/products\/sun-ra-his-intergalactic-infinity-arkestra-the-night-of-the-purple-moon-vinyl-lp","provider":"GOOD TASTE Records","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
