We're a Boston Globe Best of the Best Record Store for 2026
Some good news from the North End: Good Taste Records has been named to The Boston Globe's Best of the Best list for record stores in 2026. The Globe's newsroom staff and correspondents chose six shops across Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and Brookline, and we are honored to be one of them.
This is our second year on the list, after the same recognition in 2025. For a small, independently owned shop, that kind of back to back nod is humbling, and we know exactly where the credit belongs. It belongs to the people who walk through our door, dig through the bins, ask what we have been spinning, and trust us to point them toward something new. And it belongs to a North End that has made room for a record store among its cafes and corner spots. Thank you.
If you are new to Good Taste, here is the short version. We are a husband and wife shop run by Coty and Lindsey, focused on quality over quantity across hip-hop, funk, soul, jazz, electronic, and soundtracks. You will find new vinyl, CDs, and cassettes online, and a full selection of new and used records, listening stations, and gear in the store. The idea has always been simple. Carry music that people actually want to listen to, and make the shop a welcoming place whether you are a lifelong collector or buying your very first record.

The best way to celebrate with us is the same as always. Come see us in the North End, or browse this week's new arrivals online. Thank you for being part of this.
