Refund policy
Starting a return
Please contact us to arrange a return. All returns are subject to approval. Once approved, we provide a pre-paid return shipping label, and the cost of that label is deducted from your refund. Please pack the item carefully and use the original mailer it arrived in so the record is protected in transit. We cannot issue a refund if a returned item is not packed securely or is not in its original shrinkwrap.
Return window and condition
Approved returns must be requested within 30 days of the purchase date. New items must be returned unopened and in their original shrinkwrap to be eligible. Refunds cover the item price minus the restocking fee and the return shipping label cost. Original outbound shipping is not refundable unless the return is the result of our error.
Cancellations and restocking fees
- Customer cancellations are subject to a 10% restocking fee, deducted from the refund due.
- If an order is returned to us because of a delivery or address error and you choose to cancel, the refund is subject to a 10% restocking fee and has the return-to-sender fee deducted. See our Shipping Policy for how address errors are handled.
Final sale items
The following are final sale and cannot be returned, online or in-store:
- Used records, turntables, speakers, equipment, clothing and apparel, and accessories
- Sale items and Record Store Day releases
- Purchases tied to special-event promotions, such as Record Store Day sales and raffles
Used record condition
We grade used records conservatively using the Goldmine standard so you have a fair, realistic expectation of condition. Used albums originally advertised with extras such as posters, CDs, or download codes may not include them, or those extras may no longer be valid. We confirm these details in the listing when possible.
Record playback and skipping
We cannot accept returns, exchanges, or replacements based on how a record plays on your turntable. Several factors can cause modern music to skip, including the increased bass response on unbalanced tonearms and vibrations from built-in speakers. Players prone to these issues often use a generic red stylus or a low-cost tonearm mechanism, as found in brands such as Crosley, Victrola, and Prixton.
Manufacturing defects
Refunds for warped records or other manufacturing imperfections require photos and a video. We do not refund shipping or duty charges unless the return is the result of our error.
Pre-order cancellations
To cancel a pre-order, follow the instructions in the pre-order confirmation email you received when you placed the order. Pre-orders are not charged until the item ships, so no refund is issued before your order ships. See our Shipping Policy for more on how pre-orders work.
Parcel forwarding
If you use a parcel forwarding service, we are not responsible for damage in transit between your forwarder and your final delivery address, and no refunds are provided for that damage.
Fraud and abuse
We reserve the right to refuse business or orders in cases of fraud or abuse of our systems and policies, including attempts to circumvent our shipping, order-quantity, or other policies. Ongoing attempts to abuse or circumvent these protections will prevent future orders from being placed.
For shipping, delivery, and order-limit details, please see our Shipping Policy.
