Album Facts
MF DOOM - MM..Food (20th Anniversary Edition) Vinyl LP
Twenty years on, DOOM's food-themed feast still hits the spot.
- 20th anniversary vinyl pressing of MF DOOM's 2004 classic MM..Food on Rhymesayers
- Concept album woven around food metaphors with DOOM's signature dense wordplay
- Includes Rapp Snitch Knishes, Hoe Cakes, One Beer, and Deep Fried Frenz
Released in 2004 on Rhymesayers, MM..Food finds MF DOOM building a whole album around food, using breakfast, snacks and sweets as a way into his surreal, endlessly quotable wordplay. The production, much of it his own, is dusty and sample-warped, stitched together with cartoon and vintage audio clips that give the record its off-kilter charm. "Beef Rapp," "Hoe Cakes," "One Beer" and "Rapp Snitch Knishes" are the cuts people quote back at each other, but the deeper tracks reward repeat plays just as much. This 20th anniversary edition brings a cornerstone of underground hip-hop back to the racks.
