1984 is the album where Van Halen plugged in the synthesizer and blew the doors off. Recorded at Eddie Van Halen's own 5150 Studios with producer Ted Templeman, it opens with a short synth prelude before the Oberheim fanfare of Jump, then roars through Panama, I'll Wait and the double-kick stampede of Hot for Teacher. It was David Lee Roth's last studio album with the band for nearly three decades, and it catches them at full swagger. This 180 gram pressing uses Chris Bellman's remaster at Bernie Grundman Mastering, cut from the original quarter-inch tapes.
