Based in St. Louis, Missouri, rather than the more famous soul hubs of Philadelphia, Detroit, or Chicago, the group built a sweet, beautiful chorus sound around Perry's distinctive falsetto. Discovered by St. Louis soul mainstay Oliver Sain, they released this album on the prestigious Paula (Jewel) Records label in 1972, produced by Sain.
