Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow is Funkadelic's second album, released on Westbound in 1970 just months after their debut. George Clinton famously framed the sessions as an experiment in cutting a whole album while the band was tripping, and the result is loose, heavy and gloriously strange: fuzzed-out guitars, gospel-tinged vocals and Bernie Worrell's organ swirling through it all. The ten-minute title track is a full psychedelic immersion, "Funky Dollar Bill" is sharp social satire, and "I Wanna Know If It's Good to You?" is a slow-burning groove. This 2026 remaster is cut at 45 RPM.
