The Avalanches build records out of other people's sounds, and their fourth album turns that habit on the audio that raised them: jingles, start-up chimes, brand logos and the sonic advertising that wormed into a generation's memory and never left. Thirty-one tracks of it, sampled and sung, with Jamie xx, Karen O, Panda Bear, Rivers Cuomo, Mike Patton, Carly Simon, Haruomi Hosono, Suzanne Ciani, Ryoji Ikeda and John Glacier passing through. Forgotten machines become instruments. The physical editions carry "Evergreen Altar" with Vegyn, which the digital version does not. Street date: October 16.
