Chuck Timely & The Hourglass is the third album from Role Model, the moniker of songwriter Tucker Pillsbury, and his follow-up to 2024's Kansas Anymore. It plays as a loose story record, following a lonely mechanic named Chuck Timely through bar nights and bad decisions toward something like commitment. Producers Mason Stoops and Taylor Mackall lean into Americana and 80s country-rock shading without losing the pop hooks, from the bluesy lead single "High Hopes 3000" to "Song Is All You Get," "Chasing Midnight" and the closing "The Wedding." Dakota Johnson turns up on "Love I You."
