Masana Temples is the fourth album from Tokyo psychedelic explorers Kikagaku Moyo, released in 2018 and recorded in Lisbon with jazz musician Bruno Pernadas producing. The band chose him on purpose, wanting someone from a wildly different background to challenge their idea of what psychedelic music could be. Both sides of the group are still here, the attentive folk and the wild-eyed rocking, but sharper and more defined. Shaped by months on the road together, the record keeps shifting its sonic panorama, from the bright pulse of "Dripping Sun" to the playful "Nazo Nazo." A beautiful, restless trip worth taking.
