Reissued by Be With Records from the original Conroy tapes, this 1975 library LP is really two records in one. Side one, Dramatic Tempi, gathers four cuts each from Sammy Burdson, an alias of Sonoton founder Gerhard Narholz, and German library legend Klaus Weiss, a jazz drummer whose hard-hitting, electronics-laced rhythms peak on the phased hip-hop breaks of "Pop Waves." Side two, credited to Larry Robbins Background Rhythms, is a lighter and poppier affair that still hides plenty of drum-heavy bangers. Mastered by Simon Francis with the hypnotic original Conroy sleeve reproduced, it is a cult favorite for DJs and producers digging for beats.
