Announced by a blimp flown over London, Syro arrived in 2014 as Richard D. James's first Aphex Twin album in thirteen years. It is a warm, talkative record rather than a hostile one: rubbery basslines, hand-built analog gear, and drum programming that keeps folding back on itself, with his own processed voice threaded through several tracks.
