Where his debut laid the groundwork for a raw, minimalist take on rockabilly and blues, Collision Drive expands the palette with grittier, more layered, unfiltered energy, channeling Vega's fascination with street life, science fiction, politics, and the mysteries of the universe. Ditching drum machines for a live drummer and a hard-rock band, it ranges from the aching punk rockabilly of "Magdalena 82" to a manic howl through Gene Vincent's "Be Bop A Lula" and the psychobilly drive of "Raver." Newly remastered by Josh Bonati from the original tapes for Sacred Bones.
