An Insatiable High, first released December 1, 1977 on Kitty Records, is guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka's third studio album, recorded at Larrabee Sound Studios in North Hollywood. He brought in the R&B and jazz band Tower of Power and session singer Jim Gilstrap, and the result is bright, punchy jazz fusion with a West Coast shine. Seven tracks run from the opener Sexy Dance and the breezy Malibu to the ten-minute title track and the closer Good (Bad?) Old Days. A high point of his early run, landing between Takanaka and Brasilian Skies, reissued on 180g clear yellow vinyl.
