For this philosophical tale where humans are kept as pets by the blue giant Draags, composer Alain Goraguer delivers a haunting main theme of great melodic clarity, soaring hypnotic atmospheres, and funky wah-wah rhythms that reach toward the spirit of Isaac Hayes' Shaft. Over the decades the score has become revered as a psychedelic summit of French pop, sampled by artists from A$AP Mob to Madlib and Mac Miller. Celebrating its half-century, CAM Sugar presents a deluxe edition mixed from the recently discovered multi-track tapes, with 7 previously unreleased tracks and 3 alternate mixes, produced under the supervision of Alain's son Patrick Goraguer and packaged as a gatefold 2LP with an illustrated zine.
