Channeling the spirit of Earth's greatest rockstars, the masked, time-traveling duo Angine de Poitrine are endlessly fascinated by hot dogs, pyramids and the sheer grandeur of rock music. Klek and Khn de Poitrine build hypnotic vortices from driving drum grooves and intricately layered microtonal guitars, a sound that sits somewhere between math rock, krautrock and pure absurdist theater. Their KEXP session turned them into an internet sensation and the single Fabienk caught fire, but on Vol. I they are just happy to play rock'n'roll. A wonderfully strange, wildly fun debut.
