Pink Moon is Nick Drake's third and final album, first released in 1972 and repressed here on heavyweight 180g vinyl. It was a radical departure from his earlier records: stripped of the lush orchestral arrangements, it features Drake alone on vocals and acoustic guitar, with only a touch of piano. Eleven short songs come in at under half an hour, including "Pink Moon," "Place to Be," "Road" and "Things Behind the Sun." Critically well received but commercially overlooked at the time, it found a vast new audience nearly 30 years later when the title track soundtracked a Volkswagen commercial.
