Like a Virgin is Madonna's second studio album, originally released in November 1984 on Sire. For the follow-up to her self-titled debut, she chose Nile Rodgers as producer for his work with David Bowie, and he brought in his former Chic bandmates Bernard Edwards on bass and Tony Thompson on drums. Recorded quickly at the Power Station in New York, and among the early albums tracked digitally, it is crisp, punchy dance-pop. The title track, Material Girl, Angel and Dress You Up made it a defining record of the 80s. Pressed on clear vinyl.
