Released in 1979, The Wall is Pink Floyd's sprawling rock opera, a dark and ambitious double album about isolation, trauma and the walls we build around ourselves, largely conceived by Roger Waters. It plays as one long story, but the songs hold up on their own: "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)," "Comfortably Numb," "Hey You" and "Mother" all live here, with David Gilmour's guitar doing some of its most expressive work. Theatrical, bleak and gorgeous in turns, it rewards a full front-to-back listen. This 180 gram pressing is a cornerstone for any rock collection.
