The New Abnormal is the sixth studio album from The Strokes and their first full-length in seven years, produced by Rick Rubin and released in 2020. It finds the band older and looser but still razor-sharp, mixing the wiry guitar interplay and NYC cool of their early records with eighties synth sheen and some of Julian Casablancas' most open-hearted melodies. "The Adults Are Talking" and "Bad Decisions" deliver the hooks, while "Ode to the Mets" closes on a wistful note. The cover features Jean-Michel Basquiat's 1981 painting Bird on Money. A limited 180g pressing with a poster and digital download.
