King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (200g Steven Wilson & Robert Fripp Remix) Vinyl LP
Prog's big bang, remixed by Wilson and Fripp on 200g vinyl
- 200 gram pressing of the Steven Wilson and Robert Fripp remix of King Crimson's 1969 debut
- The album that drew the blueprint for progressive rock, Mellotron and all
- Includes 21st Century Schizoid Man, Epitaph, and The Court of the Crimson King
King Crimson's 1969 debut is the record that drew the blueprint for progressive rock, and this pressing lets you hear it fresh. Steven Wilson and Robert Fripp built the new mix from the original multitracks, a project begun for the album's 40th anniversary, and it is cut here to heavy 200 gram vinyl. Five tracks cover remarkable ground: the snarling riffs of 21st Century Schizoid Man, the pastoral drift of I Talk to the Wind, the Mellotron grandeur of Epitaph, the free-floating Moonchild and the regal title suite. Pete Townshend called it an uncanny masterpiece, and it still sounds like nothing else.
