Andre and Big Boi turn the South into its own planet
- LaFace Records vinyl pressing of OutKast's 1998 third album Aquemini
- Southern hip-hop landmark fusing funk, soul, and live instrumentation, the second of OutKast's classic trilogy
- Includes Rosa Parks, SpottieOttieDopaliscious, Da Art of Storytellin', and Skew It on the Bar-B
Released in 1998 on LaFace, Aquemini is the third OutKast album and the one where Andre 3000 and Big Boi stopped sounding like anybody else. Live horns, harmonica, funk guitar and dusty soul samples sit under some of the most rhythmically inventive rapping of the decade, from the stomp of "Rosa Parks" to the slow, smoky "SpottieOttieDopaliscious" and the story-driven "Da Art of Storytellin'." The title track shows how well the two halves of the duo fit together, two very different voices finishing each other's thoughts. Spread across three LPs to fit it all, it is a Southern hip-hop landmark.
