A close look at the full scope of Masayoshi Takanaka's legendary Rainbow Goblins Story concert. This release captures the two-day concert held at Nippon Budokan on March 10 and 11, 1981, the day of and the day after the release of his masterpiece The Rainbow Goblins. The first part recreates the concept album on stage, inspired by Italian painter Ul de Rico's picture book, while the second part collects Takanaka's hit songs. A huge rainbow neon arch stretched across the stage with a state-of-the-art laser show, the seven musicians dressed in goblin-colored costumes and Takanaka in a yellow jumpsuit playing a rainbow Yamaha SG. Returning on its 45th anniversary with vivid sound, mastered and cut by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios, with liner notes by Masayoshi Kondo and Yoshinobu Maruyama.
