Limited picture disc vinyl LP pressing. The Traveling Wilburys formed out of friendship and happenstance, bringing together Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Roy Orbison. The project began when Harrison, in need of a B-side, gathered the group to record Handle with Care at Dylan's home. Adopting alter egos as the Wilbury brothers, they recorded a full album produced by Lynne and Harrison. Vol. 1 was nominated for the 1989 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, helped revitalize the careers of Dylan, Orbison, and Petty, and is certified triple platinum.
