Friction is one of the first Japanese punk bands, formed by Reck, Chiko Hige, and Lapis in Tokyo in March 1978, and still active today. Reck and Chiko Hige had previously played in the New York no-wave scene as founding members of James Chance and the Contortions, and they brought that experience back to Japan, laying much of the foundation for the country's alternative music. This is their 1980 debut, the only album from the period featuring Masatoshi Tsunematsu, produced by Ryuichi Sakamoto. P-Vine's vinyl reissue.
