Credited to Lee Mason & His Orchestra, the album is in fact the work of British composer and arranger Pete Moore, who used the alias to explore funky rhythm sections, fat horns, bumping bass lines, and catchy melodies. One of the funkiest library albums of its era, it blends cinematic tension with jazzy undertones across eleven tracks. Its standout "Shady Blues" became a crate-digger favorite after Madlib sampled it for the Lootpack track "Answers" featuring Quasimoto. Newly remastered with liner notes by Kevin Le Gendre, back on vinyl for the first time since 1971.
