For Fans Of

This biblical concept album was originally released on the British independent label Young Blood in 1971. The one and only release by Salamander, a short-lived UK four-piece, it is a quintessential prog opera built on heavy Hammond organ and lush orchestral arrangements. Comprising Alister Benson, Dave Chriss, John Cook, and Dave Titley, the band drew frequent comparisons to The Moody Blues and early Deep Purple. Though the ten tracks take inspiration from scripture, this is a sublime, pompous pop affair with a good dose of fuzz guitar and brass.
