Cut & Rewind is the third album from NYC's punk-chic discodelic trio Say She She, recorded almost immediately after the tours behind 2023's Silver. Nya Gazelle Brown, Sabrina Cunningham, and Piya Malik soar over irresistible grooves in gorgeous three-part harmony, cut across a couple of short, intense sessions with members of cult funk band Orgone at Sergio Rios's Killion Sound. Expanding their '70s and '80s palette with touches of Lonnie Liston Smith and the Lijadu Sisters, the twelve tracks pulse with cosmic boogie, no-wave throb, and a politically charged undercurrent. It is protest music dressed up as a sweat-dripping, consciousness-raising good time, equally suited to the dancefloor and the demonstration.
