Soul Jazz Records' 18th anniversary limited-edition red and cyan vinyl pressing for Record Store Day 2024, fully remastered and relicensed, of their classic Studio One Rude Boy. From the early days of Bob Marley and the Wailers through the classic 1970s Jamaican films The Harder They Come and Rockers, the Rude Boy look and anti-establishment attitude became synonymous with Jamaican reggae culture, later adopted by The Clash, The Specials, Madness, and others in the UK Two-Tone era. The album gathers driving ska and rocksteady from Studio One's finest, including The Wailers, John Holt, the Wailing Souls, and Dennis Brown, alongside super-rare cuts, all recorded under Clement "Sir Coxsone" Dodd with backing from house bands The Skatalites, The Sound Dimension, Soul Vendors, and Soul Defenders.
