After a three-year hiatus he returned on July 11, 1999 with his eleventh studio album, aptly named Can't Stay Away. Living in Atlanta by then, it was the first of his records to fold ATL's southern influences into his West Coast Bay Area sound, with production from Jazze Pha, Jermaine Dupri, and Erick Sermon and features from 8Ball & MJG, Scarface, E-40, B-Legit, and Daz. Classic Too $hort, full of the pimp tales and unmistakable delivery that built his name, here on vinyl for the first time.
