Recorded on Christmas Eve 1964 and released by Blue Note in 1966, Speak No Evil caught Wayne Shorter in the most fertile stretch of his career, just months after he joined the Miles Davis Quintet. The band is stacked: Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on bass and Elvin Jones on drums. Shorter's writing is the star, moody and a little mysterious, from the prowling opener "Witch Hunt" to "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum" and the title track, with "Infant Eyes" as one of the loveliest ballads in the Blue Note book. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series edition is 180g, all-analog and mastered from the original tapes.
