After releasing their second album, "Message From A New Dawn" Kyoto Jazz Massive has been touring Europe with Echoes Of A New Dawn Orchestra, a French band that has been releasing 12-inch records under the name Jeroboam from Space Grapes since 2021. They have performed three times in London in six months, selling out Jazz Cafe and Ronnie Scotts, and have gained more popularity than in their heyday. In 2023, they appeared on the main stage of We Out Here, a festival curated by Gilles Peterson, and thrilled the audience.
This spring, their 30th anniversary EP "KJM EOANDO" reached number one on the iTunes Dance chart, and the track "Impulsive Procession" from the album reached number one on Traxsource's Nu-Jazz/Broken Beat chart, creating a buzz. A reissue of the LP "Message From A New Dawn" (also reached No.1 on the iTunes Dance chart), which contains songs that are central to their live performances, has long been eagerly awaited in Europe. .
In 2025, a 30th anniversary concert of Kyoto Jazz Massive is scheduled to be held in Japan, so this re-press will come at a perfect time for fans both in Japan and abroad.
This is the ultimate crossover electric jazz fusion work that has evolved into a complete band sand by incorporating all elements of techno, jazz, boogie, soul, fusion, Afro, etc..
Special guest is the legendary Roy Ayers! Experimental advance live performances were held in Tokyo, Singapore, and Russia, and all songs were originals and new songs were recorded with a complete band. Participating members are Vanessa Freeman, Kenichi Ikeda (ROOT SOUL), Takumi Kaneko (cro-magnon), Kazutake Takeuchi (A Hundred Birds), Takashi Nakazato, Yasushi Fukumori, Tabuzombi (SOIL&”PIMP”SESSIONS), Kirill Kobantschenko of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and legendary jazz vibraphonist Roy Ayers. Vocals were recorded and mixed down by Toni Economides, known for his work with Reel People and The Realm, and who worked as producer, drum programmer and mix engineer on "Let me Show Your Love" from Moodymann's Taken Away. Mastering was done by Neil Pickles, who began his career recording with The Tito Lopez Combo and was involved in a Latin project that was nominated for four Grammy Awards. The artwork was directed by the Okino Brothers, and photographed by Shuya Okino of Hiroyuki Wakabayashi's architecture. Design was by Naohiro Nomura of LIST.
