Suicidal Tendencies is the 1983 self-titled debut from the Venice Beach band, a foundational crossover thrash and hardcore punk record that helped build the bridge between skate punk and metal. Fast, snotty and ferocious, it fuses hardcore attitude with thrash speed across short, furious songs, with Mike Muir's sneering vocals front and center. It is anchored by the all-time anthem Institutionalized, with its spoken-word rant about a misunderstood kid who just wanted a Pepsi, plus I Shot the Devil and Subliminal. A genre cornerstone, pressed on red color vinyl.
