Jammin' Sam Miller spent years rebuilding the Super Metroid soundtrack note by note. Kenji Yamamoto and Minako Hamano's 1994 SNES score is a masterclass in atmosphere, all rumbling bass, tribal drums, eerie ambience and airy synth themes that follow Samus Aran deep into Planet Zebes. Miller tracked down the original workstation samples and drum machines used before the music was squeezed into the cartridge, then rebuilt and remixed everything in a modern studio to lift the veil of 16-bit compression. The result is 27 tracks across a double LP on biovinyl, with artwork by Pierre Thyss and an OBI strip.
