Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is Raekwon's 1995 solo debut, known to fans as the Purple Tape, and one of the pillars of the Wu-Tang Clan catalog. Produced entirely by RZA, it plays like a crime film set in New York's underworld, with Raekwon and his constant partner Ghostface Killah trading vivid, slang-heavy verses over cinematic soul loops and dialogue clips. Ice Cream, Incarcerated Scarfaces, Criminology and Guillotine (Swordz) are the highlights, and the record was built to be heard front to back. Often named the greatest Wu-Tang solo album, here on purple double vinyl.
