Fast, careful, and obsessive about the details. It's the shipping reputation we've built one record at a time.

At GOOD TASTE Records, the record leaving our shop matters just as much as the record on our shelves. We're an independent store in Boston's historic North End, and we treat every online order the way we'd want our own collection handled: packed properly, shipped quickly, and tracked from our door to yours. It's the part of the business we're quietly proudest of, and it's the thing our customers mention most.

How we pack your records

Every order ships in heavy-duty, double-walled mailers built specifically for vinyl. No flimsy envelopes, no records rattling loose in an oversized box. We size the packaging to your order, whether that's a single LP, a stack of new releases, or a multi-disc box set, so your records arrive flat, snug, and protected against the bumps of transit. CDs and cassettes get their own purpose-built rigid mailers too.

This isn't an afterthought for us. Properly packed records are the whole point, and it's why seam splits and corner dings almost never show up in our inbox.

How fast you'll get it

Orders placed before 12pm Eastern on business days are generally packed and shipped the same day, and orders placed after that are processed the next business day. We genuinely love the USPS and we've built our whole fulfillment routine around getting your music moving as fast as possible. Full handling details are in our shipping policy.

Where we ship and what it costs

We ship across the United States and Canada via USPS, plus other parts of the world where we can deliver safely and securely; available destinations are shown at checkout. You choose your shipping speed at checkout, so you're always in control of cost versus delivery time. USPS Media Mail is our most popular option and usually runs between $5 and $8 within the U.S., and it's free on U.S. orders of $65 or more of new records, CDs, and cassettes. Faster services and added insurance adjust the price accordingly, and orders ship with insurance for added safety in the event something unexpected occurs in transit. We hold and ship our own record inventory directly and never drop-ship records from a third party.

  • Buy 4 or more new albums and save 10%, online or in store. It's our standing thank-you to the people building real collections.
  • Local to Boston? Skip shipping entirely and choose in-store pickup at our North End shop. Pickup options appear in checkout.
  • 30-day return window on new, sealed items for peace of mind. Full terms in our refund policy.
