I Must Be Dreaming is Alabama Shakes' third album and their first since Sound & Color, written after Brittany Howard, Heath Fogg and Zac Cockrell reunited at the end of 2024 and found the chemistry still sitting there waiting. Recorded in Nashville at Sound Emporium and Blackbird with Shawn Everett, the eleven tracks lean into a thick, psychedelic soul, circling love, mortality and the strangeness of the present moment. Howard on the title: it can mean the world is unbearable, or that it is beautiful, and both are true. Street date: August 28.
