...I Care Because You Do is Aphex Twin's 1995 Warp album, built from tracks Richard D. James recorded between 1990 and 1994 and the last he made mostly on analogue gear before moving to digital production. After the near-beatless Selected Ambient Works Volume II, it swings back to rhythm: abrasive, clattering techno sits next to orchestral and ambient pieces of real beauty. Icct Hedral was later rearranged for orchestra by Philip Glass, and Ventolin became the lead single. It is also the first Aphex Twin cover to feature his grinning face, a self-portrait he painted himself. Essential for any IDM shelf.
