Sixteen years after their debut, The Avalanches built a record around the idea of signals sent into space and the people waiting on the other end. The sampling is still central, but this time there are voices in the room: Blood Orange, MGMT, Rivers Cuomo, Jamie xx, Perry Farrell, Johnny Marr and Tricky all turn up, threaded through a continuous mix that drifts between cosmic disco, gospel and soft psychedelia. 'Running Red Lights' and 'Reflecting Light' are the emotional center. Two records, Canadian pressing, imported.
