Before Skinny Puppy had a shape, cEvin Key was alone with borrowed gear and a four-track. Brap & Forth Volume 8 collects a dozen demos and outtakes recorded between 1983 and 1985, pulled from his own archive and restored, most of them from the sessions that became Remission and Bites. There are no vocals from Nivek Ogre here and no goth polish yet, just the raw mechanics of a sound being invented in real time. For anyone who cares where that sound came from, this is the primary document.
