Album Facts
Coldplay - Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends (Clear Eco Color) Vinyl LP
Brian Eno at the helm, five singles in the bag
- Clear Eco Color pressing of Coldplay's 2008 album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends
- Brian Eno-produced, more experimental turn, winner of the 2009 Grammy for Best Rock Album
- Includes Viva la Vida, Violet Hill, Lost, and Strawberry Swing
With Brian Eno producing, Coldplay took a more experimental turn on their 2008 album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, trading some of their piano-ballad comfort for orchestral strings, heavier rhythms and bolder song structures. Five singles came from the album: "Violet Hill," "Viva la Vida," "Lovers in Japan," "Lost!" and "Strawberry Swing." The record won the Grammy for Best Rock Album, and the title track, built on a stately string riff, remains a modern singalong. This is the clear eco color pressing, a bright fit for any 2000s rock shelf.
