Album Facts
De La Soul - Buhloone Mindstate Vinyl LP
3rd album by De La Soul FINALLY reissued
- Vinyl pressing of De La Soul's 1993 third album Buhloone Mindstate
- Prince Paul-produced jazz-leaning record marking the trio's most experimental statement
- Includes Breakadawn, Ego Trippin' (Part Two), and I Be Blowin'
Buhloone Mindstate, De La Soul's third album, arrived in 1993 and found the Long Island trio evolving into a looser, jazzier sound as they continued to grow. Produced with Prince Paul, it is their most experimental record, with the instrumental I Be Blowin' featuring saxophonist Maceo Parker and the introspective I Am I Be catching Posdnuos, Trugoy and Maseo at their most self-reflective. It reaches outward too, with Japanese artists Scha Dara Parr and Kan Takagi on Long Island Wildin' and Guru of Gang Starr on Patti Dooke. A deep, rewarding Native Tongues classic.
