Twenty years after Endtroducing rewrote the rules for sample-based music, DJ Shadow returned in 2016 with The Mountain Will Fall, a restless record that traded crate-dug nostalgia for something knottier and more electronic. Josh Davis pushed his production into jagged synth textures and warped rhythms, then made room for Run the Jewels to tear through 'Nobody Speak,' one of the most quoted hip-hop tracks of the decade, and for Nils Frahm to bring hushed piano to 'Bergschrund.' This 10th anniversary edition expands the album to a double LP. Street date: August 21, 2026.
