Downtown Boys have spent a decade making punk that argues with you, and Public Luxury keeps the argument going. The Providence band works in two languages, with saxophone cutting across the guitars and Victoria Ruiz delivering every line like a speech she has already had to give too many times. It is their first full album since Cost of Living, and the writing has gotten sharper rather than softer, aimed squarely at who gets to own comfort and who gets told to wait for it.
