Ezra Collective - Here Because of Hope (Blue Color) Vinyl LP
Three movements: West Africa, the Caribbean, and home to London.
- Ezra Collective's fourth album, seventeen tracks across three movements
- Features Pa Salieu, Lila Ike, Leona Lewis, Libianca and readings by Letitia Wright
- Pressed on blue vinyl across two LPs
Ezra Collective's fourth album is their most ambitious, built as three movements that trace Black music from West Africa through the Caribbean and home to London. Femi and TJ Koleoso, Joe Armon-Jones, James Mollison and Ife Ogunjobi recorded much of it at Miraval in southern France, pulling highlife, afrobeat, reggae and salsa into the horn-led sound they have spent a decade sharpening. Letitia Wright reads the three interludes that hold it together, and Pa Salieu, Lila Ike, Leona Lewis and Libianca sing across it. Seventeen tracks asking why so much music born from pain sounds like joy. Street date: September 11.
