Recorded on September 12, 1971, shortly after the release of Maggot Brain, Live At Meadowbrook 1971 is the only official live recording from Funkadelic's classic early era. Drawn from the original soundboard master tapes, it captures George Clinton, Eddie Hazel, Bernie Worrell, Billy "Bass" Nelson, and features the first recorded appearances of guitarist Harold Beane and drummer Tyrone Lampkin with Funkadelic, documenting the band at a pivotal moment in its evolution toward the P-Funk powerhouse it would soon become.
