Aqua is Hiroshi Sato at his most weightless. Released in 1988, it sits at the far end of his run through city pop and fusion, trading the funk of his earlier records for something cooler and more spacious, all glassy keyboards and arrangements that leave air between everything. It is the kind of album that works as a summer record and a late-night record without changing a note. This reissue was cut by Bernie Grundman and pressed on transparent aqua blue vinyl.
