Jessie Murph's second album pushes her further from the country-leaning sound she started with and into something brasher and more theatrical, built on blues phrasing, pop structure and a delivery that sits somewhere between a drawl and a sneer. The songs move through desire, damage and self-mythology without apologising for any of it, and the production leaves plenty of room for the voice to carry the weight. Pressed on opaque white vinyl.
