Jun Fukamachi - Second Phase (Clear Green Color) Vinyl LP
Analog synth wrestling a talk box, and winning both rounds.
- The 1977 second entry in Toshiba EMI's Pro Use Series
- Includes Left Handed Woman and Take It Easy Mr King Kong
- With Shuichi Ponta Murakami on drums and Ray Ohara on bass
Second Phase came two years after Introducing, the second entry in Toshiba EMI's Pro Use Series, and it is the more approachable of the pair without giving up any of the ambition. Shuichi Ponta Murakami and Ray Ohara return on drums and bass, with percussionist Nobu Saito thickening the bottom end. Left Handed Woman is the one people keep coming back for, Fukamachi pulling new shapes out of the analog synthesizer while trading solos with its composer Kenji Ohmura. Take It Easy Mr King Kong makes a genuinely inventive case for the talk box.
