First Light was Matsushita's solo debut, made in 1981 while he was still one of the most heavily booked session guitarists in Tokyo and a founding member of AB's. Eight tracks, played with a restraint that is the whole point: nothing hurries, nothing oversells, and the guitar sits inside the arrangement rather than on top of it. Kaoru Izima's dusk street photograph is reproduced exactly as it appeared in 1981. Remastered in 2025 for vinyl, with a three panel foldout booklet, on clear lime yellow.
